EVERY VALID FANTASY BID GIVES YOU ANOTHER ENTRY FOR A CHANCE TO WIN THE 2011 FORD RACING CHAMPIONS SHELBY GT500 SPECIAL EDITION MUSTANG...
This is a very special, one-of-a-kind Shelby GT500 Mustang, because 2011 Daytona 500 Champion Trevor Bayne, and 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. both collaborated with Ford Racing in creating this car. It sports an autographed dash plaque to signify their involvement.
Off the showroom floor a 2011 Shelby GT500 is one serious performance car. Under the hood is a supercharged, 550 horsepower, 5.4-liter V8 engine and six-speed manual transmission. It has an SVT-tuned suspension package, Brembo 14-inch front brake rotors with 4-piston calipers, and 11.8-inch rear rotors with 2-piston calipers.
Then Trevor and Ricky got busy and made some choices, changes and additions they thought they'd like if this were their car, starting with the paint color - Race Red.
For the engine, they upgraded to a Ford Racing Supercharger kit that increases output by 200 horsepower - from 550 to 750.
And to make all that power sound great they added a Ford Racing sport muffler kit.
For chassis dynamics, they chose a Ford Racing handling pack that includes adjustable front and rear shocks from Dynamic Suspensions, lowering springs that drop the ride height about 1.25 inches, and stabilizer bars front and rear. They also added caster/camber plates to the front strut mounts.
For brake performance they went to a Wilwood system front and rear. The fronts are 14-inch drilled and slotted rotors with 6-piston forged billet calipers, and the rears are 12-inch rotors with 4-piston forged billet calipers. For good measure they included front and rear brake cooling ducts.
They didn't stop there, either. Not nearly. There’s the cooling system from C&R Racing, a 3.5-inch aluminum drive shaft, carbon-fiber front splitter and rocker panels, quarter-panel scoops and lower side scoops, a gauge cluster on the A-pillar, and a lot more.
All this super-high-performance transformation, from a Shelby GT500 to the unique, "2011 Ford Racing Champions" special edition, was completed at Shelby American Inc.'s headquarters in Las Vegas.
All told, this GT500 deserves the name it's been given. It truly is a car of Champions.
